Next Saturday, 17th May, Dun Whinny will host what promises to be one of the highlights of the season – a Pro – Am team competition followed by a Charity Sportsman’s Dinner.
Thanks to the generosity of Dun Whinny members 20 teams comprising members, guests and professionals will take part in a best ball team medal competition over both the Kings and Queens Courses.
The Sportsman’s Dinner will be held afterwards in the Mitchell Room of the Dormy House with guest speakers Dr John Rankin, Michael McCurry and Gordon Smith. All proceeds will go to this year’s chosen Charity – The Teenage Cancer Trust.
The event has been structured to provide some enjoyable social golf with local and invited professional golfers, to help raise awareness and funds for a very worthy cause and to end the night with some light hearted entertainment.
Prizes will be awarded for the best team score on both the Kings and Queens and the professionals will compete in a separate competition with prizes for the best score on each course with the Trophy being awarded for the best score overall.
All par 3 holes on both courses have been sponsored and prizes will be awarded (amateurs only, sorry pro’s!) for nearest the pin as well as a longest drive competition on the 18th hole of each course.
Let’s hope for some sunshine to add to what should be a brilliant day.
