The Gavin Aitken memorial competition between the 3 mens clubs took place last Sunday. The weather was not the best and conditions were challenging for many but despite that several of our players scored well and Dun Whinny managed to win the trophy by 2 points.
Keith Stirling was the star of the show. He managed to win the nearest the pin prize on the 2nd hole of the Queens and in addition he was our top scorer with 37 points and also the top scorer from any club.
Well done Keith.
As this is a team competition congratulations and thanks are due to all the other team members for their efforts.
Members are looking forward to the Pro Am and Sportsmans Dinner this Saturday, which promises to be a superb day.
The season then really gets underway with the Spring Meeting on Saturday 23 May and then the two qualifying rounds for the Club Championship and Millennium Trophy the following weekend.
Let’s try and get a strong turnout for these excellent competitions. If you have not put your name down on the sheet in the clubhouse then simply contact Mike Page or Richard Hally.
