Seventeen Dun Whinny members plus three guests played for the Muirfield Salver on Monday 17 September over the Fidra Links at Archerfield. The day was kindly hosted by club Captain Andy Lothian and with kind weather and a golf course in excellent condition a superb day was enjoyed by all.
The outcome was incredibly close with three players each recording 34 points equally split between inward and outward halves. After close scrutiny of the last six holes however Ian Milton was declared the worthy winner with Andy Carswell and Jim Crawford securing second and third spots. In a rare double whammy the long drive and nearest the pin prizes were both won by Robin Christie.
The Archerfield organisation was outstanding and many of the participants agreed that this would be a venue worth revisiting in the future.
