Coronation Update

The country has crowned our new King but there are still plenty of Dun Whinny members to be crowned this year. The winners of trophies so far this year can be found in preceding articles in the News section of our website but we weren’t able to crown the winner of the Princes Pot today due to fog. It will now be played later in the year.

The progress of 3 of our Major events can now be followed in the Competitions section of the Website where there are links to the Singles and Foursomes Knockouts and the Order of Merit.

For those new to the Order of Merit points are awarded to the Top 7 and ties in all of our Regular Competitions. First place gets 15 points, second 10, third 5 then 4,3,2,1. If there are ties then all tied players get the same points, countbacks don’t apply here. The player with the most points at the end of the year wins the prestigious James Braid Trophy and gets crowned “Player of the Year”.

Talking of the Singles and Foursomes just a quick reminder that the first rounds need to be played by May 14th and May 28th respectively.

The website continues to be the main means of communicating everything that is going on so please check it regularly for updates on Competitions, Draws, Results, App updates etc etc.

Coming up next weekend we have our Jubilee Invitation event on the PGA which is now full again and the following weekend is our Spring Meeting on the Kings. This is normally an extremely popular event so make sure you enter in plenty of time. The player who scores the best 2 from 3 scratch and nett scores in our Spring, Summer and Autumn Meetings each receive a trophy so its well worth trying to play at least two of them.
