Pinehurst Foursomes Saturday March 16th Queens.

16/3: Our Pinehurst Foursomes “warm up” event on the Queens this morning was delayed by 30 minutes because of frost but once it melted we were treated to a glorious golfing day which was reflected in the scoring. Despite several tricky pins the majority of the 16 teams broke 70, scores in the mid 60’s were “average”, 4 teams shot 62 but didn’t win and one team scored an amazing nett 60…. what will the scores be like once we have warmed up?

Well done to Colin Campbell and David (OBE, HIO) Watt on a great round but no prize, as there wasn’t one! Well done to everyone for getting their score onto the app without any issues and well done to Kevin Beattie for not hitting his tee shot onto the road at the 6th - although apparently it did end up on the road after his partner hit the second shot….

Our final Warn Up event is a Stableford over the Kings next Saturday, enter via the app as usual and please get your entries in by WEDNESDAY as we now need to give Gleneagles our draw by Thursday morning.

Top scores as shown, all scores can be seen via the link to the Scottish Golf website via the … My Competitions tab.

13/3: Please see the draw below for our Pinehurst event this Saturday. Players 1 and 2 are a team as are Players 3 and 4. The Scoring will be via the app and the format is as follows:

Everyone hits a Tee shot then everyone hits their partners tee shot. Each team then chooses which ball they wish to use, the person who didn’t hit the chosen ball plays the next shot and you continue the hole as a foursomes (playing alternate shots) until you hole out. Record your gross score for every hole on the app as usual and it will work out your nett score.

There are no prizes but bragging rights go a long way in this event.

NOTE: Gleneagles have asked us for our draws 48 hours prior to Tee Off so we will now be closing competition entries and issuing draws on Wednesday instead of Thursday for our Saturday events. If you want to enter or withdraw between the draw being made and Tee Off then you need to let the tournament organiser (normally me or David Logie) know so we can rearrange the draw accordingly.

As usual please check back on Friday for changes and let me know if you cannot play so we can rearrange the draw.
