Result- Crawford Rosebowl. Queen’s. Sat 19th April
Hopefully you all had an enjoyable Easter Weekend! A weekend where we challenged ourselves against the Queens Course in a Par Competition.
The Crawford Rosebowl was kindly donated to Dun Whinny by Jim Crawford shortly before his untimely passing and subsequently became the prize for this competition and the super sleuths amongst you may have worked out by now, became the new name for the Par Competition in memory of a great Dun Whinny supporter and advocate.
On to the event of the day. It was an early start, with what seems to be the now regular re-shuffle on the first tee, however, we all got out and we all got back! (some more satisfied than others)
Some very good efforts were made in trying to get one over on the “short, easy course” at Gleneagles, not many have kept that opinion after playing it. Messer’s Hamilton, Gallier, Gray, Lewis, Fletcher and Lambert all managed to return home all square against the course, very well done. (especially Eric)
However, this year’s Victor and first-time trophy winner was Paul Wadsworth finishing one up against the course. Well done Paul and Vice-captain Cantlay is overjoyed to have secured the first ticket sale for the prizegiving dance.
