Results: Princes Pot (Round 1)
Saturday saw us take on the PGA for round one of the Prince’s Pot. The weather was good (Ken had his shorts on!), the fairways were sandy, and the greens were slower than they looked.
True to recent form the clubhouse lead was held from the first group out, with Andy McGill returning a fine 36 points. Andy held his lead for a considerable period until, sandy fairways specialist Sandy Grant (did you see what I did there? Special reporting!) romped home with a substantial 40 points to lead at the halfway stage.
Round two takes place, again on the PGA, on Saturday 03 May. Results of round one are below, for myself and Bill, we need to scroll right down to the bottom!
In other news, our group witnessed a new world phenomenon when David “I can’t hit a draw” McColgan sailed round hitting baby draw after baby draw all day. Apparently, this is not down to his newfound relationship with Voodoo, but a new fitness regime.
Saturday 19th sees the Crawford Rosebowl (Par competition) from the white tees on the Queens, still some space for entries.
