Winter Golf Saturday November 2nd. PGA.

Our first winter event of the season took place on the PGA this morning in slightly damp but quite pleasant conditions. Despite winter tees, preferred lies and “gimmies” it was still a challenge but a few were up to it.

Club Captain Frank Johnson and James Hardy, who seems to be coming onto a game just as the season has finished, were the best of the day, both scoring 38 points. Billy McNeil and Allister Wallace were close behind with 36 one ahead of Jonathan Fletcher and Andy Lothian - the rest of the scores are below.

Best shot of the day goes to Ewan Kinnear who came incredibly close to what would have been a very expensive hole in one at the 6th. Luckiest hole of the day was Thomas McCulloch who hit his tee shot at the 14th onto the 15th tee then managed to get up and down to make a birdie…..

Please remember to send your scorecards to David Logie if you wish to take part in the Winter Strokeplay and Eclectic events.

Our Winter Golf season kicks off this Saturday on the PGA. All rounds are non counting, preferred lies are in operation and “gimmies” are allowed, within reason. The draw is below but will change so please check back nearer the time. See previous article by David Logie for a summary of the trophies which are up for grabs.

Provisional draw.
