August Golf Update

Just a quick note to keep you up to date with our “Summer” program…..

The best scores from last weekends slightly damp Summer Meeting can be seen here Summer Meeting Result. — Dun Whinny Golf Club and all scores in detail can be viewed on the Scottish Golf website.

This weekend sees the start of the Grouse Shooting Season and our alternative is a 36 hole challenge with a round on Kings followed by lunch then a round on Queens - hopefully we will be shooting birdies not birds :)

If you don’t fancy 36 holes then feel free to join us for one of the rounds, just enter and let me know which you fancy.

Following on from that we have 3 much less strenuous events:

A Monthly Medal from the Yellow Tees on the PGA on August 19th.

The Roy Nicolson Salver (stableford) from the Queens Yellow Tees on August 26th.

Our annual outing to Dundonald on September 2nd. There may still be a couple of spots available - check with Daley, and I believe that a seat has just become available on the bus, first to ask Daley gets it…..

We are also still taking entries for our popular mixed event with Dunbracken on the Queens on the afternoon of Sunday September 10th. We already have 11 teams entered but still have space for a few more, so, if you are interested just let me know.

We now know the semi finalists in the Singles Knockout and two of the semi finalists in the Foursomes, well done to all of them. You can keep up to date with the progress of these plus the very close battle for the Order of Merit title here. Competitions — Dun Whinny Golf Club

and finally…. to spice things up a bit I am looking for a volunteer to produce a report on one or more of our upcoming events. I will do the scores etc all we need from you is the written report and maybe a picture or two. If you think you are the man for the job then please let me know which event you would like to cover.
