Match Report - Dun Whinny vs Whitemuir GC

On Monday 21st, a team of hardy Dun Whinny folk assembled to take on the best that Whitemuir Golf Club could offer. For clarification, Whitemuir is the golf Club for all eligible employees of Gleneagles Hotel.They do have an integrated event with the ladies of Dunbracken G.C, but this was the inaugural event of true competition between Whitemuir and any other 'glorious playground' based gathering.

Teams were split across both Kings and Queens courses and uniquely both teams sensed that they may  enjoy 'home' advantage!

As we know, the climate hasn't been kind to golfers in recent weeks, but with the exception of one passing shower and the odd gust of wind, we all successfully navigated our respective courses and arrived safely back into the Dormy for superb hospitality from our 'hosts': Whitemuir did us proud in the hospitality stakes: possibly down to their current Captain being the Head Chef of the whole estate!

Appropriately, for such a friendly match, played in great spirits with familiar faces, the game was tied: 3 each.

This match was pulled together at short notice but was well represented by both Clubs. Across all parties the unanimous conclusion is that it will become a permanent fixture for both.

Great fun and, pun intended, close ties were cemented.
