Medal Final. AKA Competition Winners Event. Results.

Our Competition Winners or “Champion of Champions” event was played over the Kings this morning in ideal conditions as you can see from the picture. The course was a bit damp and we had an occasional light shower but overall it was a lovely morning for golf. It was therefore a bit disappointing that 10 of the 34 people who had signed up to play on Thursday were not able to join us…..

There were several trophies up for grabs today:

In the Gross section it will come as no surprise to discover that this years winner was David Logie. He shot a 78 despite starting 5,7… he played a bit better after that including a birdie 3 at the 4th!

The Nett Prize was a bit closer. Rob Simpson set the target with a 74, Craig Scott almost matched it with a 75 but Douglas Laing, who was out in the final group, came in with a 72 to pip them both. Well done Douglas.

This was also the final event in the order of merit. Iain Aitchison was leading at the start and a solid nett 78, with his two rivals failing to score any points got him across the line. Congratutions Iain!

Next up we have the rescheduled McKelvie Four Ball Better Ball trophy on the Kings this Saturday and we are all looking forward to the draw for the Winter Foursomes which will be done at the end of next week. You can still enter both of these via the app.

The postponed medal final will be played this Saturday over the Kings from the White Tees. Anyone can take part but only those who have won an event during the year are eligible to win prizes. A list is below along with the provisional draw.

NOTE: Due to the wet course Preferred lies can be used on the Fairway.

This event is also the final event in this years Order of Merit. With 15 points to the victor three people can still win it, Iain Aitchison has 98 points, Alan Black 94 and David Mitchell has 84.

Draft draw as above but it will change so please check back on Friday evening.
