Stableford. Kings. October 26th. Multi Tee Test.

The weather was “changeable”

Todays Multi Tee Test event on the Kings proved very testing. The weather kept changing, one minute it was lovely, the next it was wet or windy or both, we even saw some rainbows - pic below. The most testing part for some people was managing to generate a card to get going. Most managed eventually but we did have one chap who decided he was a Dun Ochil member for today, one who managed to create a card dated August 10th, another who updated a card from March, and a few who gave up and went back to card and pencil. I won’t name them but you can probably imagine who they are :) To be fair the app isn’t really designed for this type of event yet and it wasn’t obvious what needed to be done. We also had more than our normal share of app issues where people who had done everything correctly couldn’t sign off their card - hopefully the app will get a few upgrades over Winter before we start to use it in earnest again for our events next year….

On to the golf and the big choice was which tees to play from. It was a pretty even split between White, Yellow and Green with no-one choosing the Reds - the Blues had been taken in for the winter. One group agreed to play from the greens then discovered that the person who persuaded them to do so wasn’t even playing in the competition….

Despite all of these distractions there was some decent golf played:

Patrick Elsmie and Kevin Dickson both scored 38 points, both from the Greens.

Ryan Longmuir (also Greens) and Allister Wallace (Yellow) both scored 37.

Ewan Kinnear was the best from the Whites with 36

Overall it would appear that Green was the best choice with Whites proving the most challenging.

Well done to everyone who took part and especially well done to those who mastered the system plus got a decent score. All the scores, except the ones that are still missing, are below.

Results so far with at least two cards still to come…..

Allister Wallace tapping in for a par at the 5th, probably for 4 points!

The rainbows mentioned above.

Our last event of the Summer Season is a stableford on the Kings. As there is nothing at stake we are going to let you choose everything yourself as well as seeing if a multi tee event will work. Here is a Step by Step guide on what to do:

!. Enter on the app as usual then

2. Choose your Tee Time via the Tee Booking system.

On the Day:

3. Generate your card on the App.

4. Choose which tees to play from - choose Dun Whinny Kings 18 holes, then your tee choice.

5. Choose whether you want to enter the competition or not.

6. Choose your marker and proceed as normal.

It’s an experiment so will probably go wrong in many ways but it’s good to try new things. Above all, Have Fun!

Up[date following the event: you can also generate your card by going to the event via the Bookings Tab on the Dashboard of the app.

Draw as above, please note changes.
