Stableford Queens White Tees. Results.

Our stableford over the Queens today was played in perfect conditions. Low scores were expected but a combination of white tees, some tricky pins and half an eye on the Ryder Cup foursomes scores made it a good test.

First to post a score was Andrew Watson, using a new driver, at least for the first nine holes…. his 35 pts kept him ahead of Mark Higham and Stewart Lockhart by virtue of a better back nine which might give a clue as to how Andrew’s new driver performed!

His score held up until David McLeod popped in with 36 pts to set a new target. This left only the final group to come, Daley, obviously inspired by looking at all of the club’s trophies on Thursday (see pic below), made a birdie at the “234 yard” 17th to put him level with playing partner Rob Simpson with one to play. Rob however managed a par to Daley’s bogey at the final hole to pip him by one scoring 37 points to Daley’s 36.

It’s great to see Rob back and playing well and he will now also be able to compete in next week’s medal winners final on the Kings. Anyone can enter but only those who have won an event are eligible to win the prizes.

There was no change to the Order of Merit, Alan was off on the holiday he won in a raffle that he didn’t enter but Iain and David failed to take advantage, its going down to the wire!

Leading scores as above, all scores available on Scottishgolf.com

Daley with Gordon Foster from the Antiques Roadshow who was kind enough to value all of our trophies.

Our stableford on Saturday September 30th is your last chance to qualify for the Medal Final the following Saturday. Tee times are 8am until 9.30 and we have plenty of spaces available.

The draft draw is below but will change. Any special requirements re tee times please let me know.
