Winter Competition Results 2024/25

A big thank you to all who took part in the Winter Competitions. It seemed to me that the weather hampered us more than in recent years with fewer rounds recorded on Kings in particular. Many still managed to get a good number of rounds in however with top honours going to Ken with 22 - you will not be shocked by this news!

As happened last year however it wasn’t quantity that prevailed it was quality. An amazing 49 points by Rob Simpson saw him vault over eight others who had themselves posted excellent 40+ point scores. Congratulations Rob the Tom Brown Tankard is yours.

In the Best 4 scores for the Winter Strokeplay Trophy only three points separated the top three with Douglas Hamilton winning with four terrific cards from only nine submitted to beat Chris Tulips and Allister Wallace. Congratulations Douglas terrific scores on all three courses.

To complete the picture the eclectics are detailed below for all three courses.

Nineteen teams took part in this year’s Winter Fourball Competition. After five rounds, the pairing of Chris Tulips and Tom Fleming advanced to face the formidable duo of Ryan Longmuir and David Frame in the final. Having already fallen to Longmuir and Frame in the quarter-finals, outgoing Golf Secretary Ken Marshall described them as unstoppable throughout their campaign. In a tense finale that stretched to a 19th hole, Tulips and Fleming fought valiantly but ultimately could not hold off their opponents, leaving Longmuir and Frame to claim the title.
