Winter Competitions and the Winter Fourball Draw
Winter Competitions 2023/24 by David Logie.
Three competitions run through the winter:
1. 4ball Matchplay run by Ken - see draw below.
2. Best stableford score over one round wins the Tom Brown Tankard
3. Winter Strokeplay. Best 4 stableford scores (no more than two rounds from each course)
There is also an eclectic (your best gross score at each hole) competition broken down into two handicap index sections (0-12) and (13-36). A small prize will be given to the winners of each section over each course (no more than one prize per person).
Competition and Handicap Rules applying
1. Your handicap will be calculated by taking your index post the medal final on 28th October. The yellow slope rating will be used on both courses to calculate your course handicap. This will be your handicap throughout the competitions.
2. You do not need to worry about recording any of that on your scorecards all I need is the gross score for each hole or a 0 if no score recorded.
3. Please record all the scores on a card and send a photo to me by email or WhatsApp.
4. We will be using the app on Saturdays for the draw and scores but I would ask that you still send me a photo of your score either from the app or on a card so I know which scores to include.
5. Scores can be submitted throughout the week provided you are playing with another Dun Whinny member but please no more than three per week.
6. Players can submit general play cards for handicap purposes using the app but please take a photo of the card and send to me if you want it included in the Winter Competitions
The Winter Fourball Knockout Draw is as shown below. Please arrange your matches asap. If a match can’t be played by the due date then please toss a coin to decide who goes through.
