Blue Tees Competition

Our infamous Blue Tees event was played today in bright but blustery conditions on the Kings from, you guessed it, the Blue tees. Several of them were even further back than the ones the seniors played from last week! Needless to say the vast majority of the field failed to get anywhere near their handicap but there were a few exceptions:

In the first group out Rob Crockart set the target with 28 points, this was later matched by Mark Higham and Frank Johnson. And in the final few groups David Mitchell and Alan Black scored 29 and 30 points respectively.

Playing with an LPGA pro didn’t inspire Andy Lothian or Rory Bain but David Logie kept up with her scoring an impressive 33 points.

Round of the day though was George Watterson’s round of 88 nett 72, including a front nine of 42 gross, which netted him an impressive 35 Stableford points and the Blue Tees title. Congratulations George on an excellent round in challenging conditions

Next up we have our summer meeting on the Kings this Saturday and if you haven’t seen it already this YouTube video of Rich Shields trying to break 75 (also with an LPGA pro) on the PGA a couple of weeks ago is worth a watch. https://youtu.be/GH_0Y67LvXY Top scores as follows:
