Charity 4BBB and other Upcoming Events.
Just a quick heads up to let you know what’s coming up over the next few weeks:
On Saturday July 13th we have a Four Ball Better Ball Charity stableford from the yellow tees on the PGA. Players normally donate £20 (or more if they wish) to the Dun Whinny Bank account (83-47-00 00618426 Ref CH24 plus your name). Dun Whinny will match all donations up to £20 per person and the grand total, normally over £1,000, will be donated to the charity decided by the winners, so its arguably our biggest prize fund of the year! It’s also great FUN!
You can enter on the app, Teams will be drawn at random and the draw published later in the week on the website. We will take entries on a first come basis and stop when we reach a multiple of 4 when we will then start a reserve list.
You don’t have to participate in the competition to donate to the charity and if you would rather donate cash then that can be arranged.
On Saturday July 20th we have our Monthly Medal on the Kings with Dun Whinny whisky tumblers for the best Gross and Nett scores. David Logie is organising this one to allow me time to practise a bit more and maybe win another trophy…. so please address any special requests to him.
Wednesday July 24th is the Jack Adams Stableford from the Yellow tees on the Queens so basically as easy as it gets. You can play in the club times of 5pm - 6pm or book your own time and play anytime during the day as long as you let the organiser (in this case David Logie again) know.
On Saturday July 27th you have a choice of events: The Main one is the Blue Tee Challenge on the Kings but for those who don’t feel up to this we also have a friendly Yellow tee event. Please enter one or the other, not both. I will be back in charge for this one.
Moving into August we have our Summer Meeting on the 3rd and our “Iron Man” 36 hole event on the 10th. More on these nearer the time but you can enter them both via the app right now.
In other News the Singles and Foursomes Knockouts are progressing well and we have pretty much reached the quarter final stages of both. You can follow the progress of these and the ongoing Order of Merit competition on the Competitions section of the website, Competitions — Dun Whinny Golf Club
and finally…. if any budding journalists out there would like to have a bash at doing the report for any of our upcoming events give me a shout - I will do all the scores etc so you just need to look at them and write something semi interesting about them. It would probably help if you also play in the competition but that’s not absolutely necessary.
