DF Darroch Stableford

With a sunrise like this it was clearly going to be a cracking day for today’s stableford on the Queens and so it proved. The white tees into the wind made the front nine really tough but two of the early starters didn’t seem to notice as Neil Lock, with a gross 70, and playing partner Jonathan Fletcher both scored an impressive 35 points.

Valient attempts by Frank Johnson (34 pts) and Alan Roe, Mike Page and the returning David Roxburgh (pictured below) all with 32 points fell short of the mark which left Queens specialist Mike Cantlay as the only realistic contender.

He managed to hold it together and stumbled over the line with 36 points to achieve his main goal of beating Al and also picked up the DF Darroch Trophy. Congratulations Mike!

The top scores are below, the rest can be viewed on the app:

Next Saturday is our Four Ball Better Ball event on the Queens, the McKelvie Trophy which, excluding the Order of Merit, is the final trophy of the year. We currently only have 15 entries so please get your names in before the draw on Thursday.

Talking of 4BBB events we will shortly be taking entries for our Winter Fourball Knockout Tournament. You can enter as a pair or individually and I will pair you up. This will appear on the app very soon.

Lastly many thanks to Frank for organising the draw this week.
