Final Stableford and 2022 Order of Merit.

The final event of our Summer Season was played yesterday on the Queens in lovely conditions. First out of the blocks were David McLeod and Crawford Gray. David shot a solid 34 points but Crawford birdied the last, broke his age again, and posted 36 points to set the early target.

Paul Kelly and Neil Lock managed to match David’s 34 points but Brian McInulty showed a welcome return to form after some recent swing changes to shoot a gross 74 and 39 points.

Allister Wallace had a poor front nine but 22 pts on the back got him to 35. Adam Lovelock did the opposite, 19 on the front but only managed 33. They might make a decent 4 ball team….

This left Iain Aitchison with 36 points after 17 as Brian’s only challenger. He needed a birdie to win and a par to tie. Unfortunately his bottle went and his made a 8 to finish tied second…. Well done Brian, no trophy this time but you do move up 20 places in this year’s Order of Merit.

Talking of the Order of Merit there was no last putt drama this year as the major places were all decided two weeks ago. 65 people took part in at least one event and the leading 50 from this year’s season long competition are below.

Our Winter Season starts next weekend and all the events up until the end of the year are now on the app. There are Eclectic Competitions on all courses, a prize for the best single round, the best 4 rounds and of course the Winter Fourball Knockout. David Logie will be running most of these this year and details of how to enter will be sent out soon.
