Monthly Medal Kings Updated 30/4

Last weeks winner Mike Cantlay preparing for his tee shot on 11 alongside David McLeod and Jim Crawford.

Our first medal of the 2023 season was played in chilly conditions over the Kings from the White tees. It proved challenging but several people were up for it with David Logie winning the Gross prize with a 71 and Richard Bateman putting together a solid 78, nett 68 to win the Nett Prize.

Narrowly missing out with nett 69’s were Colin Campbell who almost made a hole in one at the 14th and Iain “the bridesmaid” Aitchison. Iain earned his nickname by managing not to win events when leading, he needed to par 17 and 18 (which he did) for a 74 nett 66 but hit his birdie putt at 17 too hard, collided with his playing partners ball, received a 2 shot penalty, missed the return putt and made a 7…..

Also worth a mention were Ken “Iron Man” Swa who is continuing his great early season form and Jim Crawford, Andy Lothian and David Watt who all shot nett 71’s. Andy also came second in the gross section with his 75.

Well done to Richard and David. The results are below and the Top 12 in each section can be seen in the leaderboards posted yesterday which are also below.

To answer a few questions:

As per previous competitions your nett score might be a shot or two worse than expected as you only receive 95% of your course handicap in tournaments. The app calculates all of this automatically without any input from us.

Your score on your dashboard will show as a 0 until it updates overnight - this appears to be new.

The Tee booking facility is only for reference, entries into or withdrawals from competitions must be done via the Events tab.

On Saturday April 29th we have our first Monthly Medal of the year from the White Tees on the Kings. The provisional draw is below but it WILL change so please check back on Friday evening to confirm your tee time.
