Monthly Medal Kings, Saturday July 20th. Results and Report.

A lovely day for golf but a testing time for some members before they could even start! App issues for some and Ken’s stand in for the day somehow managing to create three cards for 8 Members caused a modicum of confusion. My apologies gentleman I’ll try harder on Wednesday (if I’m allowed!).

Anyway to the golf and our July Monthly Medal on the beautiful Kings course which was in terrific condition. Forgive me for concentrating on my own two/three ball (unfortunately we were down to a two ball after the 7th as Jon Cooper had to retire with a back issue) but it did produce both the Gross and Net winners! A fantastic outward 33 from Tony spurred your course reporter onto a personal best on the back nine of 31 which meant he pipped Tony by one for the Gross medal but Tony pipped Mike Colliers excellent 65 by 1 to win the Net Medal.

In the Order of Merit race the current yellow jersey wearer Ken continued to collect points with a good 4th place. Perhaps we should make it compulsory for the leader of the OoM to wear a yellow jersey throughout the season! Over to you Ken.

Post round in the Dormy I heard of three responses to golfing adversity which made me chuckle: a sand wedge broken in two, an F bomb heard from 130 yards away and singing songs from Annie the musical after missing puts! I know which one concerned me most 😄

Coming next we have our July Monthly Medal from the Kings White tees on Saturday July 20th staring from 7.00am! This is followed by the Jack Adams Trophy, a stableford from the Queens Yellow Tees on Wednesday July 24th. Our Tee times for the Jack Adams are 5pm until 6pm but you can play at any time - just book a tee time with Gleneagles then let myself or David Logie (who is organising these events) know and we will add it to the Tee Booking sheet. If you have entered the Jack Adams but haven’t already chosen a Tee time please do so via the Tee Booking tab on the app.

You can enter both via the app and the draws and results will appear here in due course. Please let David know if you have any special requests.
