Princes Pot Result. 15/7.

Andrew Watson playing his approach to the 7th.

The rearranged second round of this year’s Princes Pot was completed this morning on the PGA in perfect conditions for most. We went off in reverse order of the first round scores and apparently the later starters (leaders) got hit by a short sharp shower towards the end but everyone else stayed dry.

Early scores of 36 and 37 points from Paul Lewis and Andrew Watson set the standard and an early overall target of 65 by Andrew. This lasted until the Alan’s, Penman and Black, shot 36 and 34 respectively to move the target to 66. This was matched by Bill Sexton but Craig Scott came in with 36 points to set a new target of 68.

First round leader and defending champion Mike Collier (who had played through the second last group) added 32 to his first round 38 to move the target to a very respectable 70 points. In the final group only Ken Swa was doing well and despite a late 3 putt which he blames on the rain he managed a magnificent 39 points for a total of 74 and a 4 shot victory.

Well done to Mike for a superb defense of the trophy and very well done to Ken for winning his first ever Dun Whinny Trophy!
