Upcoming Events
With the excitement of our Jubilee Invitation day now behind us it’s time to get down to some serious golf for a while. This might not be everyone’s cup of tea so we will also try to accommodate those who don’t enjoy a White Tee challenge as much as they used to. Anyone who would like to play during the club times but doesn’t want to play in the event from the White Tees is welcome to join us, just let me know and I will allocate you a tee time for a friendly game.
Most of our competitions are now kicking off at 7.30am (some 7.00am!) so if you want an early start then we are always looking for volunteers and as always if you fancy a later time just let me know and I will also build that into the random draw algorithm. Coming Up we have:
Saturday May 18th - Spring Meeting and Monthly Medal on Kings - we have 3 Meetings every year with the best two combined (from the 3) Gross and Nett scores each winning a prestigious trophy. The others are also on the Kings on August 3rd and September 21st.
Saturday May 25th - Stroke Play Round One. This is our only event from the White Tees on the PGA and is part of a 3 Round aggregate competition with Gross and Nett prizes for the best scores. Parts two and three are on Queens June 29th and Kings on September 7th. Unlike the Meetings prize you do have to play all 3 rounds in order to win.
Saturday June 1st - Senior Trophy and Monthly Medal. This is played on the Queens, anyone can win the Medal, anyone over 55 is eligible for the Senior Trophy and there is rumour that there might be a trophy being donated for the best score from an over 65.
Saturday June 8th and June 15th - these are the qualifiers for our Club Championship and Millennium (handicap) knockout competitions. You must play in both to qualify so please put these and the match play stage on June 21st to 23rd into your diaries NOW!
We also have lots of matches and a few friendlier events to look forward to. You can enter all of these via the app right now and you can withdraw if necessary up until the Wednesday before the event - if you need to enter or withdraw after that please contact the tournament organiser (normally me) so that I can adjust the draw accordingly.
Finally we have successfully completed Round One of both the Singles and Foursomes Knockouts on time so if you are still standing please get your next round arranged asap.
