Dun Whinny vs Gleneagles Professionals

A very friendly game on a beautiful night on the Kings. Many thanks to Matthew and his team for their hospitality at the half way house and in the Dormy afterwards.

Game 1

David Logie  & Iain Aitchison v Matthew Reid & Alex Chalk 

A good start by Ian put DW 1up after 5 but an eagle from Alex at 6 and two outrageously long puts for birdies at 8 and 11 from Matthew put the Pros in charge. Unfortunately the pie and a pint strategy, successfully trialled previously, failed to help DW turn the game around and despite a spirited fight the Pros won at the 17th 3&1.

Game 2

David McColgan &  Thomas McCulloch v Scott Rose & Harry Redman 

An early 2 up lead for DW, with both David and Thomas contributing, was cancelled out by two birdies from Harry at 6&7. A see saw period from the 9th had DW 1up, quickly turned into 2 down and back to level after 14. All square down the last David and Thomas were both in with birdie 4’s which left Scott with a 6 footer to tie the game which he made. 

Game 3

 Mike Page & Adam Lovelock v Jamie Simpson & Alex Barrett 

A very good performance by Mike had DW’s noses in front coming down the stretch. Adam who by his own admission had been leaning heavily on his Partner had his moment of glory on 17 where he managed to banish the previous holes putting woes to strike the winning put for a 2&1 win.
